Tomorrow will be different … only if you take steps today
Please join us at the Women of Vision 2013 Leadership Gathering, Sept. 26th-28th!
“The only thing of importance, when we depart, will be the traces of love we have left behind.”
~Albert Schweitzer, Winner of 1952 Nobel Peace Prize
Many times, our Columbia-Willamette Women of Vision chapter has shown guests a beautiful World Vision film called Precious in His Sight in which children around the world challenge us with this question, “What is your world vision?” Once the question is posed, the children describe their own vision with enthusiasm and excitement:
“A world where children are free! Free to be who God wants us to be!”
“A world bursting with life! Where every child is full of knowledge and full of strength. Full of life.”
“A world where every child, no matter how small, has a voice and a future where there are no limits to my dream.”
“A world where prayers are believed and miracles dance.”
I love their vision, and I’m proud that our World Vision is working to achieve their world vision! And I’m proud to partner with all of you who also believe in that vision. Thank you for taking a stand to make sure children around the world experience life in all its fullness.
Every effective organization or movement begins with an inspiring unified vision. Once the vision is articulated, it’s time to prayerfully lay out goals and strategies and rally friends to help make it a reality. It’s time to examine, personally, what our own role is going to be.
That’s what the Women of Vision 2013 Leadership Gathering is about – articulating the vision; encouraging one another; and sharing ideas, goals, and strategies. Please don’t miss this conference where chapter leaders (that’s all of you with jobs big and small) come together and celebrate the meaningful work in which we have the privilege to participate. We’ll help each other plan out the year ahead, so we can reach as many children and families as possible. I hope to see you there!
The main session on Saturday will feature Pamela Pugh from Women Doing Well, presenting “Joyful Generosity: Your Capacity to Change the World.” We’ll also enjoy international project reports from World Vision staff:
• Kari Costanza, Stories of Hope from around the world
• Randy Strash, Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH) Program
• Bill Forbes, Child Development And Rights Team
• Erica Stetz, Channels of Hope for Gender
Also on the agenda for everyone:
• Tour of World Vision headquarters
• Women’s hygiene kit build
• Speed Dating with Women of Vision!
