August Advocacy UpdateAs many of you know, Congress is on August recess, returning September 8th. We appreciate all of you who have been submitting letters to the editors during this time and setting up in-district meetings– what members of Congress hear in August really does influence the decisions they make in September.
One thing that you may not realize is that because of elections, the House of Representatives will only be in session for 12 days before they recess again. Join us on September 9th to make sure these 12 days matter!
Our goal is for the Girls Count Act and the Water for the World Act to pass before the end of the 113th Congress on January 3, 2015.
The Girls Count Act currently has 48 cosponsors in the House and on July 30th, passed out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee! In the Senate the bill has been referred to the Foreign Affairs Committee.
As always, thank you for your continued advocacy!advocacy update
