Angela's report from Sierra Leone – day 4

We’ve been following Angela Mason, Women of Vision’s Senior Advisor, who is currently in Sierra Leone with ABC 7 News finding stories on World Vision sponsorship, maternal health and water. Read Angela’s reports from Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

in Sierra Leone, World Vision sponsored child Isatu with her parents

Today Angela and the team met Isatu, a 13 year old World Vision sponsored girl. She lives with her parents, siblings and five dogs. Angela enjoyed watching Isatu feed the dogs and commented that she is “such as sweet girl.” Isatu goes to school and loves it. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Isatu’s sponsor, Helen, lives in California’s Bay Area and gave gifts to Angela to pass along to Isatu. Angela says Isatu loved opening her gifts and was particularly happy to read the letter that Helen wrote just for her. In her letter, Helen encouraged Isatu to stay in school. And World Vision sponsorship is helping make that happen! Find out more about how you can sponsor a child in Sierra Leone.

When Angela returned to her hotel, she discovered that half of her room was flooded as a result of the severe rain and thunderstorms in the region. And there is still no water from the taps! 🙂
